Spelling and Grammar Tips - To, Too, or Two

To is a preposition (or part of a verb); too indicates an excess of something or “also,” and two is a number.

Examples:

Are you ready to go yet?
I had a great time yesterday while I was walking to school.
To be or not to be? That is the question.

That chicken is way too spicy for me.
I had that colouring set too when I was growing up.

One plus one equals two.
Those are two of the smallest apples we’ve had all year.

Would you two like to go too?

Still unsure? Use to as in “to” something, too whenever you want to emphasize that something has been overdone, i.e. “too” much, and two for number “two”!
